Jowar flour1/2 Cup
Gram flour or Besan1/2 Cup
Bajra flour (Optional)1/2 Cup
Rice flour (Optional)1/2 Cup
Flattened rice (Poha)3 Tablespoon
Turmeric powder (Optional)1/2 Tablespoon
Crushed Cumin1/2 tablespoon
Chopped onion1/2 Cup
Green chili8 in Quantity
Oil6 Tablespoon
Ghee2 tablespoon
Garlic Cloves8 in Quantity medium size
Garam Masala1/2 teaspoon
Carom seeds or Ajwain (Optional) 1/2 tablespoon
Sesame Seeds or til1/2 Tablespoon
SaltAs per test

Recipe:
  1. Let's get started with this testy recipe, we need to grind the green chili and garlic clove together. If we don't have crushed cumin with us, we can add it while grinding chili.
  2. Take a mixing bowl and add all the ingredients step by step. First, add all the flours, add wheat flour or atta, jowar flour, gram flour or besan, bajra flour, rice flour.
  3. Wash the flattened rice or poha and add it in. Add the chopped onion, garlic, and chili paste, which we grind earlier. Instead of using green chili, we can also use red chili powder, the results are the same.
  4. Now add turmeric powder, crushed cumin, garam masala, carom seeds or ajwain, and salt as per test. Mix these dry ingredients well and then start to add the water bit by bit.
  5. We need a soft dough, now take a wet cloth and spread it a flat surface. Take a portion from the dough, wet your hands by water, and spread it on this cloth by hand. Use the water to spread the dough. The cloth should also have too much dampness in it. So you can spread it easily. After spreading the martial, it will look like a given reference image.
  6. Spread it thinly as much you want. Some people like thickness in it, those can do skip this step and spread it direly on the pan itself.
  7. On the hot flat pan, spread some oil and now take that cloth and flip it on the pan, apply some water on the top side of the cloth and gently remove it. Here, some water means take some water in your hand just spread it and tap it on that cloth, if needed, otherwise it get removed easily.
  8. Now we need to cook it until it gets some golden brown spots on top of it. Make sure you are cooking it on a medium-high flame, otherwise it becomes dry. After flipping it and apply some ghee or butter on top of it.
  9. It's ready to eat, serve it with some curd or some pickles.

Tips:
1) When you are flipping the cloth on top of the pan and while removing the cloth, if you found some of the material is still stick to the cloth, then just apply some more water on the backside of cloth, on that particular section, so the martial will leave the cloth easily and stick to the pan.
2) Add some sugar and pinch of salt in curd. It tests delicious with Thalipeeth.

This thalipeeth is a very delicious multigrain recipe having about 110 calories in a single serving plate. It's a very tasty and authentic Maharashtrian food. It's a quick recipe and very delicious. Even one thalipeeth is quite enough for lunch or dinner.

We are saying it as the instant cause, originally its made from bhajani. Bhajani is nothing but flour, which contains multiple grains, which we wash first, dry it, and then roast it, till becomes golden.

All the grains have there owned different timing of roasting, we roast a single grain at a time and then mix it and make the flour out of it.

Isn't that too much long process?

But, tada 😜 here we go with the instant recipe, without bhajani. Bhajani will remain fine until 6 months. So whenever, someone is hungry and needs to make some instant healthy food, the people used to go with this option.

As per Maharashtrian tradition, there are 5 to holes on thalipeeth. The use of these holes are dropping the oil or ghee in between, so it becomes crunchy in between as well.

There are different kinds of thalipeeth available like plain thalipeeth (Contains onion), dudhi thalipeeth, methi or fresh fenugreek thalipeeth, cucumber thalipeeth, spinach thalipeeth, etc. Basically, whatever fresh vegetables available in your fridge you can make thalipeeth from it.

Every type of thalipeeth is very delicious. We have shared cabbage or kobi Thalipeeth with you guys earlier.

Don't think about it much, just try it and leave us a comment about your experience. We know you all gonna enjoy it a lot.
