Dadpe Pohe | Maharashtrian Dadpe Pohe Recipe

Ingredients:
Item Quantity
Flattened rice (Pohe) 1 and 1/2 Cups
Cumin seeds 1/2 Tablespoon
Mustard seeds 1/2 Tablespoon
Salt As per test
Onion  1 Big in quantity
Curry leaves (optional) 1/4 Teaspoon
Lemon Juice 1 Tablespoon 
Sugar 2 Tablespoons
Grated Coconut 2 Tablespoons
Green Chili 4 In quantity 
Peanuts 3 Tablespoons
Chopped Coriander 3 Tablespoons

Recipe: 
  1. For this very simple recipe,  we need to do three separate preparations. Let's start with the first preparation, take the flattened rice or Pohe in a mixing bowl, and sprinkle some normal temperature water on top of it. 
  2. Mix it well, we just need to make sure, every single piece of Pohe gets moist. Cover this bowl and keep it aside for 5 min. This is a very important step to get soft flattened rice or Pohe.
  3. In the second preparation, let's chop the onion, chili. After chopping onion put it in another bowl, add salt as per test, sugar, and lemon juice and mix it well. It will generate some more water to give extra moisture to flattened rice or Pohe.
  4. In the third preparation, take a small pan and heat it up. Add oil in it, once it becomes hot enough, add peanuts, fry it till it becomes light red in shade, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, green chili, curry leaves, and chopped coriander.
  5. Mix it well fry it for half min. It will look like a picture given below in the referral image.
  6. Now the final step, mix all the three preparations. We can mix it opinion bowl otherwise in, Pohe bowl. Sprinkle some freshly grated coconut on in while serving.

Tips:
1) We can also add turmeric powder in step no. 4 after adding cumin seeds.
2) We can also add some green peas it will increase the test of this Pohe a lot. Dry grated coconut also increases the test of this Pohe.

This quick and tasty recipe contains around 180 calories, in a single-serving plate. In Indian, especially in Maharashtra, people love the Dadpe Pohe a lot. 

Dadpe means covered in Marathi, while we sprinkle some water and covering the flattened rice, it will get moist inside and puffs up a little. That is why this recipe named Dadpe Pohe.
