Methi Thepla | Thepla Recipe | Fenugreek leaves Thepla

Ingredients:

Wheat flour or Atta1 and 1/2 Cup
Fenugreek leaves chopped1/2 Cup
Gram flour or Besan3 Tablespoons 
Turmeric powder (Optional)1/2 Tablespoon
Crushed Cumin1/2 Tablespoon
Curd or yogurt 2 Tablespoons
Green chilli6 in Quantity
Oil6 Tablespoons
Ghee2 Tablespoons
Garlic Cloves8 in Quantity medium size
Black pepper Powder1/2 Teaspoon
Carom seeds or Ajwain1/2 Tablespoon
Sesame Seeds or til1/2 Tablespoon
SaltAs per test

Recipe: 
  1. We need to grind the green chilli and garlic cloves. So, if you want your thepla in green colour, you can also add a portion of fenugreek leaves in this paste. 
  2. If we don't have crushed cumin, we can crush it here, in the above paste itself.
  3. Let's make a dough, from wheat flour first, cause it need rest for about 10 min. Take a mixing bowl and wheat flour, freshly chopped fenugreek leaves, gram flour or Besan, curd or yogurt, green chilli and garlic paste, ghee or butter, black pepper powder, carom seeds, sesame seeds or til and finally salt as per test.
  4. Mix the ingredients well and now add water bit by bit to make the semi-thick dough. Knead the dough 2 more minutes give it a rest for about 10 min. Cover it by a damp cloth, while giving rest to the dough.
  5. After 10 min, take the dough to knead it once and make the same 4 to 5 portion out of it.
  6. Roll the single potion at a time. Make a thin roti and cook it on a hot pan. While cooking applies some oil or butter or ghee on both of the sides. We need to cook it on medium-low flame otherwise it will get dry.
  7. Your Thepla's are ready to eat, have it with curd or pickles. We can keep it for 2 to 3 days, it will remain soft and testy.

Tips:
1) If we want to keep it for 3 to 4 days, keep it away from water and keep it in an airtight container.
2) Add some sugar and pinch of salt in curd, while eating it with thepla, it will give some extra test to thepla.

This thepla is very delicious and has only 120 calories in single thepla. Its a best food carry, while doing 2 or 3 days trip. This is the most famous food from Gujarat. But in all over the India people loves to have this thepla any time in a day.
