Moong Dal Khichdi | Khichdi recipe | How to make khichdi

Ingredients:

Rice 1 Cup
Petite yellow lentils split Mung dal 5 to 6 Tablespoons
Chopped Garlic 4 Tablespoons
Chopped Coriander 4 Tablespoons
Chopped Green chilli 2 Tablespoons or 2 in quantity
Hing or Asafoetida 1 Tablespoon
Chilly Powder  1 Teaspoon
Turmeric powder(optional) 1 Teaspoon
Oil 8 Tablespoons
Ghee 2 Tablespoons
Green peas 3 Tablespoons
Potato (optional) 1 Big chopped in cubs
Curry leaves6 to 7 Leaves
Green bean (optional) 3 to 4 in quantity
Cumin seeds 1 Tablespoon
Lemon juice 2 Tablespoons
Salt As per test

Recipe: 
  1. Let's begin with making very simple dal khichadi, we need to take a bowl and add rice and lentils or dal wash it twice and sock it in for 15 min. We prefer to use Basmati Rice, which has rice smell, but if you don't have that's not a problem at all, we can use any rice in khichadi.
  2. Now, we are directly beginning to cook it. Take a pan, add 4 tablespoons of oil in it, once it's become hot, let's add half tablespoons of cumin seeds or jira, chopped garlic, curry leaves, chopped coriander and chopped green chilli fry it till garlic become golden. Garlic and coriander are placing more important role in this recipe, don't ignore it put it.
  3. Now let's add some veggies in it, some green peas, potato, green bean and Hing or Asafoetida. If you like, you can also add some peace Cauliflower or tomatoes.
  4. Toast it once and now we are ready to add our rice and dal into the mixture and add around 3 cups on water, now the choice is yours, you want flowing consistency or like tight one. If you like flowing consistency add 4 cups of water instead of 3. Add the salt as per the test specifically after adding of water, test the mixture's water and add the required amount of salt in it.
  5. Once the water starts boiling, cover it and cook it for 15 min of a low flame, now check the rice once it's cooked or not and cover it again accordingly.
  6. Water measurement is changed as a type of rice if you want liquid consistency and you could not get it by given measurement fill free to add it at the end of cooking and boil the mixture once.
  7. Serve it hot only, while serving it, let's make a Tadka, it's totally optional, take a small pan to add oil in it, once it becomes hot switch off the flame and now add some cumin seeds, red chilli powder, if whole red chilli's available you can also add it, some coriander and some asafoetida or hing.😋
  8. Serve it with ghee on top of it and achar or lemon pickle. As there is no such fix kind of measurement, you can add rice, water and lentils in any quantity, it's gonna be testy in any which ways.
